成语(chengyu)是一种中国传统习语，主要由四个汉字组成。成语在古汉(Classical Chinese)中被广泛使用，至今仍普遍存在于白话文( vernacular)写作和口语中。汉语中约有5000个成语,这些成语被认为是中国文化的集大成者。通过从成语中学到的见解,你会发现中国老一辈的经验、道德观念或训诫( admonishment)。如今,成语在汉语的对话和教育中仍然扮演着重要的角色。因此，当你学习汉语时，了解一些常见的成语是很重要的。

本译文勉强表达了原文的意思，多处地方用词不准确，语言错误相对较多。
1.用“saying”表达 “习语”不妥当，可用“idiom” 或“set phrase” 表达。
2. mostly is made by Chinese characters 与原文意思（“主要由四个汉字组成”）差别较大，可表为“mostly consisting of/containing/composed of four Chinese characters ”.

2.用词基本贴切，如用了representative, remain playing an important role, be of great significance等。但有些地方选词欠准确，比如第一句由…组成翻译成be combined with.
3. 语法错误较多。第一句话一主两谓，而且为什么第一个谓语动词用is,第二个就变成了be呢？第二句is still general existing，exist存在就存在，这个词没有进行时，general没有用的必要，即使用了，修饰动词也要用副词。第三句which be considered为什么又要用“be“的原型？看来需要进一步加强谓语动词时态的学习。

2.用词基本准确，如consist of, be widely used, ubiquitous, be known as, play an important role in…remain playing an important role等。但有些地方拼写错误，如，ubiquitous写成ubiguitous, 选词不准确，如idiom该用integration选用 integrator，Chinese各词性乱用。
3.语法错误较多。第二、三以及倒数第二句谓语动词单复数错误，through studying from chengyu中不需要用介词from，最后一句连词选用错误。
