With 14 teaching units, SCBC currently offers 47 undergraduate programs with 14,106 enrolled students (as of September 19, 2025), spanning seven disciplinary categories: literature, economics, management, engineering, science, education, and arts, with 2 National First-Class Undergraduate Programs (Accounting, Japanese); 4 Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Programs (Translation, International Economics and Trade, English, Korean); 5 Provincial Comprehensive Reform Pilot Programs (Accounting, International Economics and Trade, Japanese, Finance, International Business); 3 Provincial Characteristic Programs (Exhibition Economics and Management, Korean, Digital Media Technology); 2 Provincial Characteristic Program Development Projects (Tourism Management, Arabic); 1 provincial-level demonstration program for applied talent cultivation (Computer Science and Technology) and 1 provincial-level key undergraduate program in private universities (English). 2 national-level first-class courses (Korean Grammar, Fundamentals of Accounting); 8 provincial-level first-class courses (Korean Grammar, Advanced English (2), Marketing, Fundamentals of Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting I, Kindergarten Education ActivityDesign and Implementation, International Trade Practices,Comprehensive English I); 3 provincial-level ideological and political education demonstration courses (Overview of Chinese Culture (in English), Cross-Cultural Communication, Comprehensive English I). With 12 foreign language majors and 10 language programs, SCBC offers the most foreign language options among private universities in South China.

Equipped with disciplines such as Foreign Languages and Literatures, Applied Economics, Business Administration, and Computer Science and Technology, SCBC strives to build high-level research platforms and think-tanks to serve local economic and social development. Current resources include: 2 provincial-level key disciplines with distinctive features (English Language and Literature, International Trade); 1 Ministry of Education platform (Center of Polar Issues Studies); 3 Guangdong Provincial Key Research Bases for Humanities and Social Sciences in Higher Education (Center for Multilingual Translation and Dissemination Studies of Chinese Culture, Research Base for the Digitalization and Innovative Management of Guangdong Service Industry, South China Semiotics Research Center); 1 Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center (Ubiquitous Object Digitization Engineering Research Center of Guangdong Province); three Guangdong Provincial Social Science Research Bases (South China Semiotics Research Center, Polar Sustainable Development Research Center, Research Center for Collaborative Innovation in Airport Economy); one Guangdong Provincial Policy Advisory Research Base (Research Center of International Economic and Trade Rules ); one China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Sub-council (Research Base for International Economic and Trade Rules and Standards conferred by CCPITCSC); ten Guangdong Provincial Social Science Popularization Bases; and two Guangdong Provincial Humanities and Social Sciences Research Innovation Teams.

SCBC places high priority on faculty development, striving to build a high-caliber teaching team characterized by effective instruction, strong research capabilities, rigorous academic attitude, and dynamic vitality. Faculty members holding associate senior titles or above constitute 32.47% of the total, while those with doctoral degrees account for 20.83%. Over one-third of the faculty possess overseas study or work experience. The university currently has a doctoral workstation of Guangdong province and employs 13 professors at the secondary level, 3 experts receiving special government allowances from the State Council, 1 National Outstanding Teacher, 5 provincial (ministerial) level experts with outstanding contributions, 3 provincial teaching masters, 13 Nanyue Outstanding Teachers, 3 Rising Stars of Nanyue's Teaching Arena, and 1 Guangdong Provincial Advanced Individual in Teacher Ethics. Additionally, numerous faculty members serve as policy advisory experts for provincial and municipal governments, Guangdong Provincial Government education supervisors, and recipients of honors including the Pushkin Medal of Russia and the Medal of Friendship and Cooperation of Russia.

SCBC adheres to an open educational attitude, actively pursuing substantive collaborations with overseas universities, research institutions, international organizations, and enterprises to explore pathways for jointly cultivating high-caliber international talents. Partnerships have been established with over 60 universities and academic institutions across 17 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Russia, Japan, and South Korea. These collaborations facilitate multi-tiered, diverse international education programs such asdual-degree programs, exchange student initiatives, and overseas internship exchanges.

Guided by the cultivating philosophy of “strengthening foundational qualities, refining professional expertise, enhancing foreign language proficiency, and emphasizing practical experience,” the university has nurtured a large cohort of multi disciplinary talents with sound ideological ethics, humanistic literacy, specialized knowledge, and global perspectives. To date, it hasproduced nearly 60,000 high-caliber graduates whose comprehensive competencies have earned widespread acclaim from employers. According to the 2025 Wu Rankings, SCBC ranks second among private institutions in Guangdong Province for graduate quality. SCBC recruits students from 19 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China, with all admissions occurring in the undergraduate batch. Over the past five years, the university's minimum admission scores in the national college entrance examination have consistently exceeded Guangdong Province's undergraduate minimum control line.
