SCBC Students Achieve Outstanding Results at the “Challenge Cup” Guangdong College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition
From May 22 to 24, the final round of the 15th “Challenge Cup” Guangdong College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition successfully concluded at Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University (Heyuan Campus). SCBC students competed with great determination and achieved outstanding results, ultimately winning one provincial second prize and ten provincial third prizes.
Closely aligned with Guangdong Province’s “High-Quality Development Project for Hundreds of Counties, Thousands of Towns, and Tens of Thousands of Villages,” this year’s competition featured broad participation and a high standard of entries. It established five competition tracks, scientific and technologica linnovation, rural revitalization, green and low-carbon development, social governance, and cultural creativity, attracting over 100,000 students from 160 universities in Guangdong Province. Additionally, the competition featured a special “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project” track for Heyuan, with competition propositions tailored to 21 key local development sectors. This attracted tens of thousands of young students from across the province to tackle these challenges, resulting in a large number of high-quality practical solutions that effectively promoted the power of youth innovation to empower local high-quality development.

SCBC Students Win First Prize in the Provincial Round of the China University Student Computer Design Competition
Recently, the 19th China University Student Computer Design Competition (2026) Guangdong Provincial Round and Greater Bay Area Finals successfully concluded at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Under the dedicated guidance of Professors Wang Yukun and Xie Shaobin, a team from SCBC’s School of Computer Science composed of Deng Sijie, Zhang Ruolin, and Zhou Yudi, Computer Science and Technology majors from the class of 2023 won the provincial first prize with their project “Sky Patrol Smart Management: A Drone-Based Intelligent Monitoring and Dispatch System for Scenic Area Traffic.” The team has successfully advanced to the national finals.
The China University Student Computer Design Competition is a national academic competition jointly organized by the Teaching Guidance Committee for Computer Science Majors, the Teaching Guidance Committee for Software Engineering Majors, and the Teaching Guidance Committee for University Computer Courses, all under the Ministry of Education. It is listed among the top competitions in the national rankings of university student competitions.

SCBC Teacher Wang Hao Wins the Excellence Award at the National Art Song Competition for Higher Professional Art Institutions
Recently, the 5th National Art Song Competition for Higher Professional Art Institutions (Chinese Works), hosted by the Central Conservatory of Music, successfully concluded in Beijing. Wang Hao, a young faculty member from our SCBC’s School of Arts, stood out among numerous contestants with his profound vocal skills and highly captivating stage presence, winning the Excellence Award (Second Prize). This achievement fully demonstrates the solid strength of our university’s vocal music education and the professional excellence of our young faculty members.

SCBC Delegation Attends 2026 Government-University-Enterprise Cooperation Fair
On May 26, led by Xu Zhichao, Secretary of the SCBC Party Committee, a delegation including Zhao Aidang, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, and Liu Yang, Director of the Career Guidance Center, attended the 2026 “Good Job Opportunities in Guangzhou” Government-University-Enterprise Cooperation Fair, hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
The event brought together nearly 200 universities from across the country and over 300 enterprises from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and other regions, serving as a premier venue for connecting universities, Enterprises, and government departments in talent recruitment. On behalf of SCBC, Party Secretary Xu Zhichao formally signed framework agreements for university-enterprise cooperation with Guangzhou Gongbo Auto Parts Technology Co., Ltd. and GuangzhouYuntu Talent Service Co., Ltd.

SCBC Holds the 14th Multilingual Model United Nations Conference
On May 28 at 7:00 p.m, the 14th Multilingual Model United Nations Conference was held in the International Conference Hall, as one of the university’s signature activities “Learning Foreign Languages Anytime, Anywhere”. Professor Zeng Yongqiang, Vice President of SCBC, along with other expert judges and faculty members, attended the event.

The conference attracted active participation from numerous outstanding student delegates, who formed delegations representing 18 countries to gather and compete on the same stage. Under the theme “Building a Global AI Ethics and Governance Framework,” delegations engaged in lively and in-depth discussions on the topic. Conducted in a bilingual format, the conference featured four segments: formal debates, informal debates, draft resolution submission, and consensus-building. Drawing on the current state of global AI development and the specific concerns of the nations they represented, each delegation thoroughly explored the issues at hand and actively articulated their positions. Adhering strictly to time limits, delegates engaged in substantive, evidence-based debates within an intense and competitive atmosphere. They actively initiated motions to the Presidium and invited delegations from other “countries” to jointly seek optimal global governance solutions.
Professor Zeng Yongqiang, Vice President of SCBC, delivered an address at the conference. He noted that the Model United Nations Conference servesas a vital platform for putting the concept of “learning foreign languages anytime, anywhere” into practice. This year’s conference, centered on the theme of AI, aims to guide students to think critically about their responsibilities on the global stage amid the wave of artificial intelligence. He expressed three expectations for the participants: first, to leverage their multilingual strengths to promote communication and mutual learning; second, to conduct in-depth research and propose practical solutions; and third, to hone their skills so they can take their place on the world stage and rise to the responsibilities of their generation.

SCBC Celebrates Children’s Day with Parent-Child Carnival
On the morning of May 30, SCBC held a “Celebrating the 30th Anniversary, Enjoying a Colorful Children’s Day” parent-child carnival at the school gymnasium. As part of the university’s 30th-anniversary celebration series, the carnival invited children of faculty under the age of 14, immersing them in the rich academic atmosphere and helping them appreciate their parents’ dedication to education and commitment to nurturing them.
The event featured a meticulously designed “Time Corridor”and themed photo zones, with classic children’s songs playing on a loop, creating a vibrant, child-friendly atmosphere. In the highlight “Time Messenger” segment, children wrote down their wishes and messages by hand, sealed them away for safe keeping,and made a pact to open them again on the day of the university’s centennial celebration.
Zhao Fuchun, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and Chair of the Trade Union, attended the event and delivered a speech. He extended festive greetings to all the children of faculty and staff, paid tribute to their families, and expressed gratitude to the event organizers. Zhao Fuchun noted that holding the Parent-Child Carnival during the school’s 30th anniversary was a gesture of good will from our university to both the faculty and their children. He expressed his hope that SCBC and faculty families would work together in education ensuring that the founding spirit and values of education are passed down from generation to generation. He wished all the “SCBC Babies” a happy holiday and healthy growth.
