This program is a national-level first-class undergraduate major development initiative. Rooted in the forefront of economic and trade cooperation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Japan, it adopts a dual-track training model featuring a “Japanese major+ micro-major” approach. Building on a solid foundation in the core competencies of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation, students may pursue a minor in International Economics and Trade or Cross-Border E-Commerce to acquire practical skills in international trade practices, business negotiation, cross-border e-commerce operations, and new media marketing, thereby truly achieving “one degree, two sets of skills.” Aligned with the hiring needs of Japanese-funded enterprises, the program focuses on developing three key practical competencies: Business Japanese Translation, Business Japanese Interpretation, and Japanese-Language Cross-Border E-commerce Operations. Students have the opportunity to obtain relevant authoritative certifications. Graduates are highly sought after by Japanese-funded enterprises, cross-border e-commerce companies, and international trade firms in the Greater Bay Area. Career paths include positions at Japanese-funded institutions in China, Japanese-language operations in cross-border e-commerce, international business, and Japanese language education and training. Graduates may also pursue further studies at renowned universities both domestically and abroad.

2. Korean Language (Specialized Program Supported by the “Belt and Road”Grant)

This program innovatively establishes a three-dimensional training system integrating “foreign languages, international trade, and digital technology.” It offers a “3+1” joint training program with South Korean universities such as Sangmyung University and Chungnam National University, collaborates with over 10 Chinese and South Korean enterprises to establish internship bases, and invites corporate leaders and executives to serve as industry mentors. The program focuses on developing three cutting-edge course modules: cross-border e-commerce practices, business negotiations for the China-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, and artificial intelligence translation technology. Through practical projects such as Korean language service positions at the Canton Fair, Sino-Korean e-commerce live-streaming competitions, and Sino-Korean economic and trade simulation negotiations, students concurrently obtain TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) certificates as well as qualifications as Cross-Border E-Commerce Operators and E-Commerce Specialists from Alibaba International. This ensures a seamless transition from the classroom to the workplace, effectively achieving the goal of cultivating well-rounded professionals who “master Korean, deeply understand economic and trade regulations, and possess digital skills.” Graduates can pursue careers in government agencies, enterprises, and public institutions in areas such as economic and trade operations, management, translation, and teaching. Furthermore, leveraging the university’s industry partnerships and their own digital skills, they can realize their entrepreneurial dreams in the fields of international trade and cross-border services.

3. Arabic (Program Supported by the “Belt and Road” Special Grant)

This program aims to cultivate applied professionals with well-rounded development inmorality, intellect, physical fitness, aesthetics, and work ethic. Students will build a solid foundation in Arabic, develop strong practical Arabic language skills, and become well-versed in prevailing international trade rules, customary practices, foreign trade laws and regulations of Arabic-speaking markets. Additionally, they must master basic skills in English as a second language, enabling them to pursue careers in management, translation, economic and trade practice, and teaching within government agencies, enterprises, and public institutions. This program fully implementsthe “3+1,” “2+2,” and “3+1+2”international talent development models. It has signed international cooperative education agreements with Tanta University, Suez Canal University, Ain Shams University, and Alexandria University in Egypt; the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates; University of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia; Yarmouk University in Jordan; and Damascus University in Syria. After completing the corresponding phase oftheir studies in China, students may proceed to partner institutions to continue their studies for the remaining phases: upon completion of the “3+1” program, credits earned can be transferred to this university; upon completion of the “2+2” or “3+1+2” programs, students will receive academic certificates and degrees issued by both institutions.

4. Thai Language (Program Supported by the “Belt and Road” Special Grant)

This program closely responds to the demand for applied and multidisciplinary Thai language professionals in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the “Belt and Road” Initiative. It is dedicated to cultivating high-quality, applied professionals with strong Thai language proficiency, knowledge of international trade and economics, an understanding of Thailand’s sociopolitical landscape and culture, as well as strong business practical skills and cross-cultural communication abilities, to meet the demand for international talent in Sino-Thai economic and trade exchanges and cooperation. The Thai Language program maintains a deep partnership with Srinakharinwirot University in Thailand, offering two study abroad models: the “3+1” Sino-Thai Joint Training Programand the “2+2” Sino-Thai Joint Training Dual Degree Program. Students may select the learning path that best aligns with their personal development plans. Tuition fees during the study period in Thailand are fully covered by the university’s special study abroad scholarship. Graduates may pursue careers in government agencies, public institutions and private enterprises, and multinational corporations, engaging in cross-border trade, business management, translation, and foreign legal consulting. They may also choose to pursue further studies in Thailand, work in Thailand on assignment, or launch entrepreneurial ventures such as Sino-Thai cross-border e-commerce businesses.
